One of the UK's most cherished vocal ensembles, The Kingdom Choir, have announced a special one-off Christmas concert in 2024, set to take place at London’s iconic Cadogan Hall on 6th December.
This festive event will feature the internationally acclaimed choir performing beloved Christmas classics with their signature flair, promising an evening of joyous celebration that will have audiences clapping, stomping, and dancing in the aisles to usher in the holiday season.
Karen Gibson MBE, the esteemed founder and conductor of The Kingdom Choir, shared her excitement about the upcoming concert: "This will be a Christmas event like no other, as we infuse our unique style into well-known classics, along with a few surprises."
This announcement comes on the heels of The Kingdom Choir’s remarkable 30th-anniversary celebrations, which included sold-out performances at Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Barbican, further solidifying their status as one of the UK’s most successful choirs.
Over the years, The Kingdom Choir has amassed an impressive list of achievements, including performing alongside Barbara Streisand at British Summer Time in Hyde Park, opening a Major League Baseball game, and headlining tours across the UK, US, and Australia. They gained international fame with their unforgettable performance of “Stand By Me” at the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan in May 2018, which led to a major record deal with Sony Music UK and the release of their debut album, Stand By Me, later that year.
The album featured their celebrated rendition of “Stand By Me,” which soared to Number 1 on the Billboard Gospel Songs Chart, capturing the joy and spiritual essence that defines all of their performances.
Hailing from London, The Kingdom Choir draws inspiration from a variety of Christian traditions, creating a sound that reflects the warmth and community spirit of its members. Their vibrant energy and passionate performances, under the direction of Karen Gibson—who was honored with an MBE in 2020 for her contributions to music—have captivated audiences worldwide.
The choir has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including sold-out concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, the Royal Albert Hall, and the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Sydney.
