
Led by Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick, as the singer, guitarist and composer, renowned British acid Jazz outfit Incognito are to take to the stage at the Barbican Centre this Autumn with a live orchestra in celebration of their formation 45 years ago.
Incognito has stood as a staple of the UK jazz and soul scene for more than four decades, as well as enjoying global success with their undiluted, no rules Jazz inspired sound.
Over the years, Incongnito has released nearly 20 studios albums, most notably their debut Jazz Funk, No Time Like The Future which peaked at No. 9 on the UK R&B album charts and best seller Positivity, which led to Maunick working with artists such as Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Terry Callier.
After immigrating to London from his native Mauritius, the live music scene in the UK grabbed Jean-Paul’s attention with groups such as Gonzalez and FBI becoming major inspirations.
Now, 45 years later, the great British adventure of Incognito has collected in its stride multiple top 10 hits and collaborations with artists across the globe such as Jocelyn Brown, Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Paul Weller and more.
