Itzhak Perlman

Virtuoso violinist Itzhak Perlman celebrates his 70th birthday with this special one-off concert featuring the touchstones of his repertoire.

Israeli-American violinist Itzhak Perlman means many things to many people. From his breakthrough in 1958 on The Ed Sullivan Show, to his solo performance of the theme to 1993 film Schindler’s List (which subsequently won an Academy Award for Best Original Score) and the 2009 inauguration ceremony for Barack Obama, Perlman’s virtuosic playing has made him one of the world’s most successful violinists; critically revered, a technical powerhouse, and all whilst having humour and ease as a performer.

Perlman’s long-term recital pianist Rohan de Silva joins him for this special one–off concert to mark his 70th Birthday. Expect to hear his trademark signature sound, firm and glossy with big vibrato, across the landscape of his repertoire, touching on pieces of music that have helped shape an exceptional career.
